Is there a coaches manual?
Yes, Please contact the Recreation Commissioner to request a manual or DVD. You can read the Dynamo Handbook for more information.

What do I need to do to become a coach?

Travel league coaches will need to register (separately from your child); and, we require you to complete the E License course. Note: Dynamo will cover the cost of your E License registration upon completion and successful tour of duty. Please email travel@pghdynamo.org if you are interested.

Recreational league coaches only need to indicate head coach or assistant coach in the volunteer drop down menu when registering their child; We encourage our recreation league coaches to get a Y(outh) license. Coaches for U9 and older can also benefit from an E License course. Recreation coaches are also required to read and agree to the Coach Code of Conduct Agreement.

Affinity FAQs

How do I (de)activate or add guest players to my GDR?

This would be for travel admins only (head coach, assistant coach, or team manager); rec league doesn't need to worry about this (Game Day Roster, which needs to be printed each week).

Once you are logged into the Affinity system, look to the "Tournament Applications / Game Scoring" section, click the "Edit" link on the right, next to your team's name; then, click on the "Player Roster" tab. Here you can check/uncheck players (the "Active?" column), and then click the "Set Active Players" button.

IF you have guest players, click the "Add Player" button; the "Player Status" drop down should be "Loaned Player" and the "State (Association) Name" should be "Pennsylvania West", and you will need to know the player's first and last name, gender, and DOB, then click "Add Player" button, then click back on the "Player Roster" tab (to verify they are active); don't forget to go back and unset the Active bit for that player for future games (and you can also "Remove" link them in this tab).
